General Description: Gray Hawks (Buteo nitidus), also called Gray-lined Hawks, are small gray hawks with gray wings, a gray-barred breast, and long black-and-white banded tail. In flight, the wing tips are rounded. Taxonomy: Accipitriformes, Accipitridae. Favored Habitat: Sonoran Desert canyons with cottonwood trees, sycamore trees, and running water. |
